What does it mean to be a Sentinel? Prayer is a gift from God allowing us to deepen our relationship with Him and to offer Him our adoration, our confession, our thanksgiving, and our petitions. Who of us does not need and desire a richer prayer life and a deeper relationship with God, our Father? Participation in the Sentinel group, our division of the Watchman Prayer Ministry, affords that very opportunity. As a member, you are asked to designate one hour a week as a hallowed time to read God’s Word, to meditate on Him, to examine your heart, and to intercede in prayer for specific individual needs, our church, civic leaders, and our nation. Particular requests will be provided to you on a regular basis. You are asked to faithfully honor the hour you choose and at the end of your hour, call the person who will follow you in prayer. The goal is for a year’s commitment. This ministry is not designed to fulfill a regimental program but to bind us together in prayer and to deepen our relationship with the Lord. It is not intended to replace or interfere with your present form of devotion or prayer ministry nor is it a matter of simply reading a list of names for an hour. It is an hour of devotional prayer and meditation which may be shared with someone else. Please consider choosing an hour that will fit your schedule and join us in being a Sentinel in prayer. We began scheduling times of prayer on Sunday, August 20 and will continue through the September 15, 2006 commencement and beyond. Copyright
