LOAVES & FISHES COMMUNITY SOUP BOWL
Volunteers are needed to help prepare and serve lunch for the Loaves and Fishes (Community Soup Bowl).
Food will be served at the Salvation Army from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

COUNTY-WIDE THANKSGIVING SERVICE
Thursday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m.
At Fairview Baptist Church
Dr. Fred Luter, Sr. Pastor of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans will bring the message.

COUNTY-WIDE THANKSGIVING MASS CHOIR
Choir members will meet Thursday, November 20 at 6:00 p.m. to rehearse.At Fairview Baptist Church.
The two songs the choir will sing are Thanks by Carroll McGruder and O Taste and See by Percy Gray.
All church choir members are invited to come and sing.
A CD of the songs and copies of the music are ready for the choir directors.
Call Slater Murphy, Minister of Music at Fairview (328-2924) and he will see that you get the number of copies of the music and listening CD’s your church needs.
Slater will be leading the choir and the Fairview Orchestra will be accompanying the choir.

POINSETTIA ORDERS
Our church has a wonderful tradition of decorating the sanctuary each Christmas season with poinsettia plants that have been given in honor/memory of loved ones and friends.
Orders are now being received. Order forms are located in Sunday School classes, the church office and at the back of the sanctuary.
The cost this year is $20.00 per plant.
Deadline to place your order is Sunday, November 23.

ALZHEIMER'S SUPPORT GROUP The Columbus Alzheimer’s Support Group meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Activities Building. This support group is for any family member who is involved in caring for someone with Alzheimer’s.  For more information, contact Joan Sheppard at 241-5518, ext. 280.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
To help us help you find your place in ministry in our church, please complete the Opportunity to Serve form that was recently mailed out. December 14 at 5:00 p.m. - a Christmas dinner in the Artz Fellowship Hall will follow the Children’s Christmas Program.

FRIED TURKEY & SMOKED PORK LOIN FUNDRAISER
UMM are once again offering fried turkeys or smoke pork loins for your family’s Thanksgiving. Why not get a few and make a gift for someone, knowing that the funds raised are used for mission projects of our own United Methodist Men?
Fried Turkey (10-12 lb.) $40.00 each
Smoked Pork Loin (4-5 lb.) $25.00 each
Cooking will be Wednesday, November 26 with pick-up beginning at noon.
Order forms are available in the church office.
All orders must be pre-paid.
Deadline to order is Monday, November 24.

UMM SMALL GROUP now meets weekly on Friday mornings at 7 a.m. for devotionals and personal reflection.

Registration is limited, so be sure and sign up early!
Cost for this retreat is $250.00.  A NONREFUNDABLE deposit of $125.00 is due NO LATER THAN December 1.  The final balance will be due December 21.
No registrations will be accepted after December 1!

EMPTIES4CASH FUNDRAISING PROGRAM
Keep bringing your empty inkjet printer cartridges (in its original box or in a Ziploc bag) to the Youth Center and put them in one of the collection boxes.
Our group receives $4.00 for each empty ink cartridge that has a print head, regardless of the brand or type. This is a win-win situation - we help save the earth and earn a few dollars in the process!
